Help-Portrait Harrisburg Update

Some important updates:
  • We will be taking photos of people from Bethesda Mission from both Men's and Women's shelters.  Specific detail on locations and time will be given through emails for people signed up for Help-Portrait Harrisburg due to several reasons, primarily for privacy of people involved.
  • One important reminder, if you want to be involved, NO portraits taken during this event can be used for your portfolios, blogs or public display.  This is very personal.  Help-Portrait is about giving for the sake of giving.  I will quote one of the comment from Help-Portrait community discussion: "The movement is about the act of doing something great for someone else in need. This can be achieved by blogging and posting photos/video of the event itself and not the individual person's portrait."  For our event, we will go even further on this.  Event any candid photos with identifiable images of people from Women's and Youth's shelter can NOT be displayed at all.  Currently, we will just leave this as honest system, but if majority think we should all sign an agreement for this, we can do that too.
  • With what said above, there is no such thing as release form.  One of the organizers mentioned on the community site "The only release that should be considered giving is you, the photographer, signing over your copyrights to the subject so they can use the photo however they'd like."  We currently have no plan to have any release form for you to sign over your copyrights, we will just use honor system.  Remember, this is not about taking photos, it is about giving.
Thank you for your willingness to help and sacrifice your time.
